Overview
In the beginning, the Converge Admin architecture was based on known features. As multiple designers worked on subsequent features they all independently made educated guesses as to where the functions should live in the site. As more features were added, the initial architecture began to break down and most areas were not scalable.
Problem Statement
How might we design a sensible, intuitive, hierarchy that allows users to find the features, configurations, and tools they need?
Solution
- Gain a deep understanding of Admin users through mixed methods research to understand how they use our tools today using card sorting and client interviews.
- Create a sitemap that can be verified by users of not only preference but scalability and configurability.
- Design a new Analytics dashboard with features such as "recent activity" for easy return to previous tasks.
- Add Looker integrated data where users can easily see pick data that's relevant to their role.
- Create a brand new navigation component that separates your view by all global clients and features linked to a single client.
After various rounds of Usability Testing, I concluded with a SUS score of 78 percentile ranking.
